Lilia Yahyaoui
President

Lilia, of Algerian origin, continued her studies in France, where she obtained two master's degrees: one in financial control and the other in information systems management. Her career path led her to the banking and insurance sectors, where she began her career in IT project management. Today, she is a consultant in IT security, a crucial area in today's digital age.

Five years ago, Lilia decided to move to Montreal, with a constant desire to take on new professional challenges and broaden her horizons.

Passionate about management and leadership, she undertook an MBA at HEC Montréal to acquire solid managerial skills and broaden her professional network. The program enabled her not only to strengthen her ability to lead teams, but also to gain a better understanding of strategic corporate issues.

Her commitment to the AÉMBA, as President, is driven by a deep desire to participate in a human adventure and to carry forward a strategic vision for the association. She makes it a point of honour to meet the needs of the student community, ensuring that their time at HEC Montréal is not only enriching, but also memorable.

In her role, Lilia is responsible for representing students on the school's various bodies and committees, leading the team of vice-presidents in their projects, and ensuring that the association's objectives are successfully achieved.

Samuel Bastien
Vice-President, Operations

A native Montrealer, Mr. Bastien holds bachelor's and master's degrees in chemical engineering from McGill University, as well as a doctorate in chemical engineering from the Université de Sherbrooke. He has been working in the environmental field for 7 years now. He initially worked in the field of characterization of air pollution emissions from industrial sources. He now carries out studies to assess the extent of contamination on various sites, and ensures that current environmental standards are respected during decontamination work on these sites.

Mr. Bastien decided to go back to school to do a part-time MBA to support his management activities in his job. Always at the service of people, he decided to get involved in the AEMBA to contribute to student life and enable his classmates to make the most of their time in the program. His role as VP Operations is to act as a conduit between the various VPs and ensure that the AEMBA's overall activities are on track.

Stéphane Kili
Vice-President, Finance

Stéphane was born and raised in Côte d'Ivoire. He moved to Montreal a dozen years ago to pursue his university studies. With a background in finance and information technology, Stéphane's multidisciplinary background has enriched his expertise. Passionate about numbers and finance, he now works as a business analyst in the banking sector.

For him, the MBA at HEC Montréal represents a unique opportunity to delve deeper into the world of business and strategy. This is also his third stint at HEC Montréal, and he has decided to mark this milestone by getting actively involved in the student community. As a member of AÉMBA, Stéphane acts as a business partner for other members and ensures the association's financial health, thus contributing to the realization of AÉMBA's projects and initiatives.

Charles Mathon
Vice-President, Communications

Charles is a Director of Business Development and Strategy with eight years' experience at a Big 4 company, where he works closely with the marketing and communications departments.

Originally from Toulouse, he holds a master's degree in modern literature from the Université de Toulouse Le Mirail, and completed a certificate in journalism at the Université de Montréal. A former journalist, he has a thorough mastery of written and visual communication techniques, essential for creating clear, impactful messages.

Rémi Breton
Vice-President, Corporate Affairs

Rémi is originally from France and moved to Quebec in 2022.

With a degree in Social Work and a Masters in Education, he is passionate about lifelong learning, which he sees as a lever for personal and social transformation.

In designing training programs for managers, he has built bridges between academic knowledge and professional realities.  

He is currently an advisor specializing in innovation and development at the Université de Montréal's Faculty of Continuing Education.

Her decision to enroll in the HEC Montréal MBA program was motivated by a desire to gain new perspectives on the challenges of the business world and to gain access to positions with a strong social and educational impact.

At AÉMBA, he holds the position of Vice President, Corporate Affairs. Together with his team of directors, he aims to strengthen ties between experienced managers and students, facilitating enriching and inspiring exchanges.

Lili Li
Vice-president for associations

Lili, originally from China, has been in Montreal since February 2023. Her professional experience spans the technology sector, marketing research and educational evaluation, enabling her to develop a diversified expertise and customer-centric approach. She joined the full-time MBA program at HEC Montréal to hone her skills, strengthen her managerial approach and broaden her professional network.

Since 2009, Lili has been an active member of Toastmasters, where she has held roles as club president, division governor and founding club president. The friendships and leadership experience she gained with Toastmasters encouraged her to run for the position of Vice President of Associative Life. Her aim is to foster a supportive environment within MBA clubs, enabling students to pursue their personal development.

Deepak Nambiar
Vice President, Academic Affairs

Deepak is originally from Toronto and has a background in financial crime. He has had the pleasure of working with two major auditing firms, EY and KPMG, in their forensic investigation departments. More recently, he held a position in the fight against money laundering and terrorist financing for a major Canadian bank.

After five years in the business, Deepak chose to take a break and take on new challenges with an MBA, an unconventional departure in his career path. He opted for HEC Montréal to discover the Quebec market and broaden his experience. With this in mind, he joined the AEMBA to expose students to professional opportunities outside Quebec. In addition to managing case competitions, he also organizes skills development workshops.

Outside his professional and academic activities, Deepak enjoys cooking, voice-overs, various sports and kickboxing. Passionate about fitness and nutrition, he enjoys sharing his knowledge with others.

Caroline Grossemy
Part-time Vice President

Caroline hails from the North of France, where she grew up, graduated in engineering and got her start in the world of IT and the web. Her career then took her to Montreal, then to Brazil, where she immersed herself in the aeronautics industry. Back in Montreal, Caroline continues to thrive in this exciting world, rich in innovative technologies and stimulating challenges. Her decision to join the HEC Montréal MBA program was motivated by a desire to surpass herself, expand her network and acquire the tools to actively contribute to tomorrow's society.

As VP for part-time students, she represents their interests to the association and the school, ensuring that their years of study run as smoothly as possible. She also works to find solutions to the challenges they face, and to make improvements that will benefit future cohorts.

Dynamic, curious and adventurous, Caroline never misses an opportunity to explore new horizons and meet people who enrich her career.

David Ruczkal
Full-time Vice President

David was born and raised in northern France, where he studied pharmacy. Passionate about new technologies, he began his career in several startups using artificial intelligence for healthcare.

After several years in France, he moved to Switzerland to join a life sciences consulting firm. His appetite for new adventures led him, after 4 years in Switzerland, to move to Montreal in July 2024 to undertake the full-time MBA program at HEC Montreal.

His role as Full-time Vice-President is to ensure good communication with the cohort, and to pass on students' problems and needs to the AEMBA and the MBA office. Beyond that, he ensures the cohesion of the full-time cohort by organizing activities and events dedicated to their specific issues, such as "lunch & learn" or post-exam festivities.

His role is also cross-functional within the AEMBA, as he works with all members on events that will affect the full-time cohort.
